Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Habits is owned, designed and operated by Rusheel Nujetti. In this document, "we" and "us" mean Rusheel Nujetti.
Habits is a personal habit tracker run by an individual, not a company. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. In short: your data is used only to run the app for you, is never sold, and is never used for advertising.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name as provided by Google. You can change your display name at any time.
- Profile: the display name, optional username and avatar colour you choose, plus an invite code generated for you.
- What you enter in the app: your habits and check-ins, tasks, goals, reading list and progress, meditation sessions, and app settings such as colour and theme.
- Friend connections: who you've sent requests to and who you're friends with, plus nudges and reactions you send each other.
- Shared goals: goals you create with friends, and the progress figures each person enters for them.
- Proof photos: photos you choose to post to a proof group, with the time they were posted. They're reduced in size before upload, visible to members of that group and to friends you allow in Privacy, and deleted after one month (30 days). You can delete your own photos at any time.
We don't use analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't collect your contacts. If you turn on Auto light and dark mode and choose to use your location for sunset times, your approximate location is stored only on your device and is never sent to us.
How it's used
Your information is used only to provide the app: to sign you in, save and sync your data across your devices, and share progress with friends you've accepted.
What friends can see
Friends only see what your Privacy settings allow: for example today's check-ins, your recent history, goals, current book and meditation stats. You can turn each of these off for everyone, or hide them from specific friends. Hidden information is never sent to that friend. You can also choose who can see your proof photos and who can nudge you, for everyone or per friend; these two choices are enforced by the database itself. Friends never see your tasks, settings or anything you haven't chosen to share. People who aren't your friends can't see your profile or progress.
Google sign-in
If you choose "Continue with Google", the app receives your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and uses only your name and email to create your account. The app does not access your Google contacts, files, email or any other Google data.
Step count (Android app)
If you connect Health Connect in the Android app, Habits reads your step count (and nothing else). It never writes health data. Your steps are used only on your phone, to fill the progress ring on a steps habit like "Walk 8,000 steps". They are not uploaded, stored on our servers, shared with friends or used for anything else, and the only thing they do is tick off your steps habit when you reach its goal. Friends who can see your check-ins can then be notified that you reached your step goal, but never your step count. You can disconnect at any time in Health Connect's settings.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored with Supabase, which provides sign-in and the database, and the website is hosted by Vercel. Both act as service providers and process data only to run the app. Database access rules mean each person can read only their own data and what friends have chosen to share with them.
Cookies and local storage
The app stores a sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in. It doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept while you have an account. You can remove a friend at any time, which stops all sharing between you. To delete your account and all of its data, email rusheel657@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, and it will be deleted within 30 days.
Children
Habits isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Significant changes will be mentioned in the app.
